To end the year on a charitable note, KLab Cyscorpions recently donated twelve CPUs and ten computer monitors to the San Jose Elementary School of Brgy. San Jose in Tiaong, Quezon on November 24, 2015, as part of an adopt-a-school program. KLab Cyscorpions’ Director and Systems Admin Senior Manager, Masaru Suzuoki, headed the project, and the warm surprise welcome he and his team received from the school’s smiling, bright-eyed elementary students was well worth the three-hour drive. Also present to greet them and to accept the donation were a number of the school’s administrative staff, led by Teacher-in-Charge Vivian Soriano and San Jose Brgy. Captain Billy Barcelona.
The KLab Cyscorpions visitors were treated to a sumptuous lunch, followed by a short but entertaining program from the grateful young students. Plaques of appreciation were also presented to Mr. Suzuoki and KLab Cyscorpions Systems Admin engineer Bryan Salcedo to wrap up the program.
Mr. Salcedo, who attended San Jose Elementary School as a youngster, played a vital role in the selection of the school as the recipient of the company’s donation. He agreed that the stock computer equipment, pre-used but all in good working condition, would help a lot in upgrading his alma mater’s meager computer facilities. ”It feels great (to help),” Mr. Salcedo says, “because I know that this donation will help the students of this school to be more computer-literate, even at a young age.”
